It's been a while since my last blog, so I thought I would do one big catch up (no, not ketchup) blog! The first thing would have to be the March birthday party at Grandma and Grandpa Teixeira's. Grandpa, Jeff and I all had our birthdays last month, and as tradition, we had a BBQ. Yummy and great as ever! The following weekend was my birthday BBQ at dads. He made an awesome BBQ dinner as well!! My sister Heather, Aunt Diana, grandma and a few family friends joined us. Here are some pictures from those 2 days.
Marky's first hair cut... 4 months old!! The Thursday before Easter, I asked Aunt Beverly if she would give Marky his first hair cut. So later that afternoon, we headed over for the big event! He did so good and was so cute through it all. He looks like a new boy now!
Easter was our next big adventure. On good Friday, we went to Aunt Diana's and colored Easter eggs with our cousins, Gabby, Claire and Verity. They all had so much fun! There is quite a resemblance between all of them, being cousins and all. Later that night we went to Nicole's 6Th birthday party at Chuck E Cheese. The girls didn't want to leave. Emmy has asked me everyday since if we can go back, sometimes she won't get out the car at home, because she wants me to take her there! It's only an HOUR drive!!! Sunday was Easter, I had enough camera battery to catch that morning, and the rest is history, or at least on Katy's camera haha. Mom made a great Easter lunch for the whole family and we had an egg hunt for the kids. Unfortunately I didn't get pictures at dads house for Easter or his birthday later on that day :( Happy Birthday Dad! We had a great dinner along with an egg hunt there too.
Last Thursday Lillian received her first school award... Student of The Month!! My mom was able to be here for it, so that was special for both her and Lilly... of course me too! We had a conference this week as well. Her teacher said that she is doing very well and her report card was very good, showing mostly excellent markings and a few P's and P+'s which stand for progressing (basically a "b") We are very proud of her! Her teacher also said that when the kids are given directions, the kids look at Lilly to see what she is doing and follow her lead! Pretty cool :)
Lastly, I finally got my website up and going!! I have been working hard trying to get my portfolio together. So please go check it out and let me know what you think! I love feedback :) www.melbphoto.com

A leprechaun came!
Lilly was so excited this morning to see that the leprechaun came and ate her lucky charms and left her some magic glitter dust and chocolate coins!

Saint Patties Day
So, Lilly has been talking about Saint Patricks day for about a week now. I must have missed the paper that came home about making a leprechaun trap for the 17Th. It was supposed to be there today so they could try and catch one during the night. I couldn't let her miss out on the fun, so we built a trap this evening for our house to see if we could catch anything... This is what she came up with. Notice the Lucky Charm trail, stick to hold the trap open, sticker to entice the little leppy and the 3 leaf clover at the end... oh yeah and the pretty decorated box that would hopefully be his home :) I love kids imaginations and being able to keep the belief there... soooo cute! Before I went to bed I cleaned up the trail, made the stick fall (which by the way, she set very well! I couldn't get it to stand back up... hence the reason I let it fall haha) and added some pretty glitter and chocolate coins for her. I can't wait to see what she does in the morning!

Home Sweet Home
We finally got all moved back home this past weekend with lots of help from friends and family. Thank you all SO much for everything you did, we really appreciate it!! Unfortunately with Marks work schedule, all the unpacking, and Lilly starting a new school, we haven't ventured out much. Hopefully next week we can get a little of that in! I keep forgetting that I am just minutes away from everyone, and can just leave and go visit anytime. It's kind of strange! Anyway it's great to be back and we look forward to seeing everyone on a regular basis and actually being able to be at family bbq's and friends get togethers. Maybe we will have one or two of our own as well :) I thought I would share a picture of our new view.

Photography
Mark and I recently came up with a name for our Photography "business" if thats what you'll call it. The new name is MEL B Photography. We tried to make it catchy yet meaningful. I bet you are wondering, "Whats MEL B stand for?" Well between the 5 of us, our first initials all start with M,E, or L and of course our last name starting with a "B". I thought I would post some of the pictures I have been working on with my editing stuff. I know some of them are repeat offenders, but I changed them up a bit, so they are a little different. Let me know what you think, I would love your input!! Oh yeah, and if you like it enough, pass it on to your friends! I am anxious to get back to the coast so I can really start doing more with my photography. I find A LOT of inspiration over there... I can't wait!!

Emmy's New Hair Cut!
So, I thought this day would NEVER come! I was warned by many friends that my children would one day give themselves or eachother haircuts. I always thought... "No, not my kids... if they haven't done it by now, then maybe it wouldn't happen" Well I am soooo... far from right. Lillian found her child scissors this evening and decided to give Emmy a nice little trim right in the front of her hair! Here is the evidence.
